HOW TO REMOVE "WALL" FROM FACEBOOK PROFILE

I don’t like the Wall feature of Facebook at all. For whatever reason, I’m just not real hip on anybody coming to my profile and just typing away. I’ve turned my wall off for a long time, and enough people have commented to me “Hey, you don’t have a wall! How did you do that?” that I thought I would share how to remove your wall.

Cool Ubuntu Tips and Tricks for Beginners

How to Restart X

'X' is, correct me if I'm wrong, the desktop environment of Ubuntu or Linux or in other words it provides the graphical user interface in Linux systems.
Remember in Windows 98 when you wanted to restart your computer because an application was creating problems, we would press ctrl+alt+del twice and the system would restart.
Ubuntu has a similar option, if we are having problems with the GUI or if your system has stalled then the last resort will be to Restart X with the command ctrl+alt+backspace. The difference here is that, instead of restarting your whole computer this will only restart X. It's much quicker :)

UBUNTU TIPS AND TRICKS

   Customize the Panel

Ubuntu includes a top panel and a bottom panel by default. If you prefer to keep only one panel at the bottom just like the Windows Taskbar, then these are the steps to follow:
  1. Delete the bottom panel: right-click over it and click "Delete This Panel".
  2. Move the top panel to bottom: right-click over it, select "Properties" and change Orientation from "Top" to "Bottom".
  3. Add running program buttons: right-click the panel, select "Add to Panel", scroll down and select "Window List", click "Add".
  4. Replace the Menu Bar ("Applications-Places-System") with the "Main Menu" to save space in the panel:
    1. Right-click the "Menu Bar" and select "Remove From Panel".
    2. Right-click the panel, select "Add to Panel" and choose "Main Menu", click "Add".
    3. Right-click the items (Firefox, etc) and untick "Lock to Panel".
    4. Right-click the added "Main Menu", select "Move" to relocate it to the far left. (See Note 1 below)

CONVERT BINARY OR DECIMAL TO HEXADECIMAL EASILY

1,453,752 is 101100010111010111000 is binary, now we turn it into a Hex number.

First Hex numbers goes like this:
1=1
2=2
.
.
9=9
10=A
11=B
12=C
13=D
14=E
15=F

Now you need to take the first octet (the far right 4) and place it under this little grid:

8 4 2 1
--------
1 0 0 0 = 8

See the 1 under the 8 column?
That is what you add.

So the next octet is 1011, put it under the grid:

8 4 2 1
--------
1 0 0 0 = 8
1 0 1 1 = B

See 8+2+1=11, so you can't just say 11 you have to put it in a Hex number, which is B.
So the full Hex number of 1,453,752 is:

8 4 2 1
--------
1 0 0 0 = 8
1 0 1 1 = B
1 1 1 0 = E
0 0 1 0 = 2
0 1 1 0 = 6
0 0 0 1 = 1 <-- Just add zero if it isn't a full octet

162EB8

So if you want to turn a number in to the shorter version of Hex, just turn it into binary, then use this grid and you'll do fine
